My Self Daxter Aujla as a Lawyer and Project Manager (MBA)
I am a lawyer with 2 final courses left in my MBA from Columbia Southern University in Project Management and have a Specialization in Six, Sigma Principles, Agile Specialization, and Google Project Management Certifications. The time with money that has been invested in my education to bring me to this point in life
As a Project Manager one learns time management skills. One learns how to break the project down and build it from scratch up. As a lawyer, all these skills come in handy. This is another skill set I have gotten along the way with my Master's in Business with a concentration in Project Management. Along the way, I further got numerous certifications in specializations.
As a Lawyer even if most people watch law and order, real life is completely different than law and order but one thing is clear a lawyer has to watch the client's interest. As a Project Manager one has to do the same, one starts with small projects, takes them from start to finish, and then begins with the bigger and more complex ones.
The project Manager as well as Lawyer both need to build trust with the client. Both fields require attention to detail in regard to schedules, both fields need to have good communication skills, and risk management is needed in both fields. The client will need to feel comfortable with the lawyer and again the same with the project manager that he feels comfortable giving him work or new projects and also that he has his client's trust to finish the job on time.
In any field and endeavor of work, a happy client will hire you. Contracts and Project Management have similarities but in Project Management one will not be sued for breach of contract. One may get fired from the job for not following the Project Contract Protocols. As a lawyer, one can be specific and purposely vague but as a project manager one has to be straightforward and also in meeting project deadlines up to the mark.
One will never see Project Managers write as much as Lawyers do even their Blog Posts will be less, but regardless writing is a skill that one needs to develop in both fields and can be an asset. One can transition from Legal World to the Consultancy world and vice versa as one chooses and that would keep life interesting.
The time and money spent in both Law School and Business School have to come to good use if one combines the skills taken from both schools and helps improve business. The main thing to create your own Business and working independently is the Master the ultimate goal in life. Master of one's own destiny to be in full control of the reigns, as no one has them.
